FIRST EVER - College
credit course "Therapeutic Laughter", MHCR

"This course familiarizes the student with the therapeutic
aspects of humor and the skills and knowledge necessary to
become a Certified Laughter Leader. Leaders are able to
facilitate social and therapeutic Laughter Clubs."
This is a 30-hour
course, designed by psychologist Steve Wilson and Susan
Stewart, RN, MA, CLL, will be taught through the Mental
Health/Chemical Dependency/Mental Retardation program
curriculum. It will be taught at the college's main
campus by Steve Wilson on four Saturdays: October 4, 11 and
November 1, 8. An additional six-hour practicum
during which each student conducts a therapeutic laughter
program is required, and can be scheduled at any time during
the quarter.
The Process: All students must complete an online
application to the college. If a person has ever taken a
course at CSCC or even CTI, they do not need to
reapply. The

students' and then to the online application.
This course will be available for students to
register beginning July 28 and students can register on
line. Instructor Dianne Fidelibus is available to assist with

3 credit hours. For
Ohio residents it is $79 per credit hour and $8.00 lab fee =
$245.00 - Other course material such as books, tapes, etc
would be an additional charge. Students purchase Study
Guides directly from instructor. The instructional fees are
due no later than 1 week before the beginning of the
quarter.
